2015 Scholarship Recipient

Kathleen Hinterlong, RN, CURN

Letter from 2015 scholarship recipient:

Thank you for selecting me as the recipient of the 2015 Ron Brady Career Mobility Scholarship. It means so much to me to have your support. I have been a nurse for 25 years and obtaining my BSN has always been a goal, but for different reasons, it just never seemed like the right time. I have to express that attending several SUNA conferences and symposia since 2008 and obtaining CBUNA certification in 2012 was the start of me having the self-confidence and courage to realize I still had it in me to advance my degree. I am happy to say that I am well into the BSN courses now and receiving this scholarship is a true blessing. I am thankful to have found such a great organization that has inspired me. It is quite an honor to be this year’s scholarship recipient. Much gratitude!

2014 Scholarship Recipient

Anne Remington, RN, CURN

Letter from 2014 scholarship recipient:

PhotoThank you! It was quite a surprise to find your letter and scholarship check waiting in my mailbox. I am very grateful for this financial support but even more grateful for the "vote of confidence" it implies. I have felt at home in urology since day one and this generous scholarship reinforces my belief that I have lucked in to a field populated by encouraging, positive nurses and professionals.

Receiving this scholarship is a call to action for me. I'm the beneficiary of the kindness, optimism, and altruism of my peers. Now it's my time to take this confirmation that I'm on the right career path and use that energy and goodwill to benefit others in our organization and those we serve. I'm not sure exactly how I can be of service to SUNA but it will be fun figuring it out.

Again, please accept my sincere thanks for the scholarship support. I hope to have a chance to thank you in person some day but know there's one very happy urology nurse in Indiana tonight!
